Seeking 15 temp FT reforestation laborers (tree planters/tree thinners) for H-2B employment.

WORKSITES: Ore counties of Tillamook ($18.27/hr), Polk ($18.06/hr), Yamhill ($17.34/hr) + Lincoln ($18.27/hr). OT: N/A.

DUTIES:
1. TREE Planting: Bending, stooping, walking; Carry seedlings bag weighing up to 50 lbs; Plant seedling trees 10 to 12 feet apart; When required, apply &/or remove Vexar netting/tubing around seedlings; Clear the ground of brush prior to planting; Dig holes for seedlings, cover the roots with soil, compress the loose soil around the seedlings; Meet production standard: The number of trees to be planted in 8 hour period, 1000 -1300 trees per day per employee.

2. Hand pile brush for burning + removal.

3. Perform fire protection/suppression, build fire breaks/fire lines by removing the fire's fuel through cutting, scraping or digging using hoe dad, shovel, spade &/or rake.

4. Pruning trees using clippers/pruners for the allowance of better growth.

5. TREE Thinning: Work outdoors in all terrains, 30 to 70% slopes, very steep.

6. Apply Glue Bud Cap Netting to tree seedlings.

EXPE REQ: 6 mo exp as Reforestation Laborer or farmworker.

OTHER REQ: Verifiable exp + characterreferences. No on the job training provided. Must be: Available to work entire season with crew at all locations; Able to lift up to 50 lbs of tree seedlings boxes from cooler to tree transport truck + handle strenuous physical tasks; Able to work in rough terrain, incl conditions that may be cold, hot, dirty, wet, + noisy, with possibilities of falling objects from forest surroundings; Authorized to work permanently in US; Willing to take random drug/alcohol tests +/or criminal background checks upon hire as work contracts require; Willing to wear all required clothing + protective gear per job classifications.

Employer offers: 35 hrs/wk, M-F from 7:30am – 3:00pm, 1/1/2018 – 3/31/2018.

No piece rate applies. No production requirement applies for incentive. Employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workers paid every 2 weeks. All lodging provided + paid by Employer. Employer will make all deductions from worker paycheck required by law. Deductions for Boot + Meal Expenses – only if purchased by Employer for employee. Employee Advances – only when employee requests advance in pay (between pay periods). If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will arrange + pay directly for transportation + subsistence from the place of hire to the place of work. Upon completion of work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs to return transportation + subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical + reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $12.07 per pay during travel to a maximum of $51.00 per day with receipts. Employer will provide daily transportation to/from worksites. Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing + other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees).

Employer will provide to the worker, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, + equipment required to perform the duties assigned. Employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least ¾ of the workdays in each 12-wk period of total employment period.
